Advantages of low speed side grinder

Release time:2025-07-29
Low-speed side-of-machine crushers (usually installed next to production equipment for immediate recycling of scraps and waste) have shown unique value in industrial production (especially in the plastics, rubber, packaging and other industries) with their "low speed" characteristics and "side-of-machine instant processing" scenario advantages. The main benefits are as follows:
1. Instant recycling, reducing material waste and transportation costs
As side-of-machine equipment, it can directly process scraps generated on the production line (such as plastic film scraps, injection molded parts flash, paper trimmings, etc.), without the need to centrally stack and transport the waste to a distant place for crushing, avoiding material loss, contamination or moisture during the transfer process.
The crushed materials can be directly reused in production (such as adding new materials in proportion), realizing "zero-distance recycling", significantly improving the utilization rate of raw materials, and reducing procurement costs.
2. Low speed design to protect material performance
Reduce material degradation: For heat-sensitive materials such as plastics and rubber, low speed (usually 300-800 rpm) crushing can reduce friction heat generation, avoid oxidation, degradation or molecular chain breakage of materials due to high temperature, ensure that the mechanical properties (such as toughness and strength) of recycled materials are close to those of new materials, and do not affect the quality of finished products.
Avoid excessive crushing: crushing by shearing and extrusion rather than high-speed impact at low speed, the material particles are uniform (mostly flakes or strips), without excessive dust, and are easy to mix with new materials when reused, reducing product defects caused by particle size differences (such as bubbles in injection molded parts and uneven surfaces).
3. Safe operation and reduced workshop risks
Low speed + protection design: Compared with high-speed crushers, the rotating parts of low-speed equipment have small inertia. With protective covers and emergency stop devices, safety accidents caused by operator accidental touch or material splashing can be reduced.
Reduce the spread of dust and odor: The low-speed crushing process is gentle, and the material is not easily lifted by the high-speed airflow. With the sealed feed port and dust removal device, it can effectively control dust (such as plastic particles) and volatile gases (such as the odor of some plastics), improve the machine side working environment, and meet the workshop hygiene and environmental protection requirements.
4. Durable equipment, low maintenance cost
Low wear and long life of wearing parts: At low speed, the impact force of blades, screens and other components on the material is small, and the wear rate is slow (especially when handling soft or medium hardness materials), reducing the frequency of blade replacement and reducing spare parts costs.
Simple structure and easy maintenance: Machine side equipment is usually small in size and compact in structure. Daily cleaning (such as removing residual materials) and inspection (such as blade tightness) do not require professionals, and can be quickly completed by production line operators, reducing downtime maintenance time.
5. Strong adaptability, no interference with main line production
Low noise operation: low speed, low vibration, operating noise is usually 70-85 decibels, much lower than high-speed crushers (more than 100 decibels), will not interfere with the communication and attention of production line operators, and no additional sound insulation measures are required.
Flexible start and stop, no main line power consumption: small power (mostly 1-5kW), independent power supply, flexible start and stop, will not affect the power stability of the main production equipment due to crushing operations, especially suitable for small and medium-sized production lines.
6. Applicable to various forms of machine edge waste
For continuously generated flexible waste (such as film, fiber, woven bags) or irregular scraps (such as injection molded parts burrs), the low speed design with spiral feeding or biting blades can avoid the common "knife entanglement" and "blockage" problems of high-speed machines, ensure continuous and stable crushing, and do not slow down the main line production rhythm.
Typical Application Scenarios: In plastic film blowing, injection molding, extrusion (such as pipe and sheet) production lines, as well as packaging, printing, and leather processing industries, low-speed side-of-the-press shredders are key equipment for achieving "lean production." They can rapidly process waste while maintaining high-quality recycling while preserving material properties. They are particularly suitable for companies with high demands for finished product quality and seeking to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
